I found this on the internet. Have no clue as to whether it is linked to our Graves family. Our family is "northern U.S.", having roots in New England (Massachusetts and the other early colonies), and then moving northern New York and eventually into Wisconsin. William Samuel Graves was a farmer, living near Fort Atkinson and Baraboo, Wisconsin. After the patriarch was killed in a threshing machine accident, his widow and son and the son's wife moved around, eventually living in Illinois and then in Missouri and Oklahoma. They were sturdy stock and some descendants still live near Enid and Ames, Oklahoma. Others spread out to California and Oregon, and even now remain there, while some are back in New York and other parts of the west and mid-west (Western Writer is in Nebraska).
